As all of you who still go here know, the IDRP has reached a very stagnant state even in the wake of its new site, and even I've been feeling stifled with RPing the current story here. So, after doing a bit of research in the management of other RP sites, the majority of the G.O.D.S. have decided to do two things:

1. Revamp the layout of the site completely. That is, instead of forcing everyone to stay in one thread (it worked before because we didn't have a choice in the matter, what with the whole RP starting from a single thread), we will follow the more traditional forum RP format where different sub forums represent different landmarks and locations in the IDRP world. This also allows people the freedom to make open threads and RP at their own pace (though timestamps are still required, they will be required only for the first post).
2. This means that one storyline has to go... and that storyline is the Wangan RP, sadly. But fear not: all approved characters are automatically allowed into the IDRP, and allowed for tweaking if need be. So for those worrying about having to make a completely new character, you don't have to (though you'll probably want to change a few dates of coruse - this is going to timeskip all the way to January of 2006, the tail end of the Winter season, if I'm not mistaken).
   
3. Because the storyline is now revamped, this is now Season 3 (where Season 1 was the first few months of the IDRP, and Season 2 was everything starting from Shinji Kiseki's fall from grace to the end of the Zui Hou R Tournament). For all intents and purposes, the Zui Hou R Tournament is finished, with Erika Hayasaka being made the winner for closure. A summary will be written up regarding the seasons and the relevant events, as well as closures on storylines that haven't been finished yet.
4. An actual plot that will require everyone's participation (and with the promise of fame and prizes and what not) will be presented soon after. As mentioned before, the new season will start on the tail end of Winter, so we'll still have snow battles

Season 3 begins!

The year is 2006.

The snow has begun to fall upon Japan, signaling that harder trials lie ahead. The newcomers from the past year have started to make names for themselves. Erika Hayasaka, was recently crowned winner of the Zui Hou R Tournament. The young man once known as 'Darkside' is still struggling to find himself, amid the broken memories of his past. Mike Bayon, kidnapped by the Fallen Angels and turned into the entity known as Havoc, has put that all behind him... yet the monster is only sleeping. The twins struggle to cope with...

• It should be related to Initial D and Wangan, or racing in general.
• It has to look good. That kind of goes without saying of course.

The first two players to race are Ryan Juvoni and Vincent Alton. So to their owners, AmericanMuscle and Vince, good luck! You have one day to prepare; the race starts on May 20, 2008, and a thread will be made for it.

The Initial D and Wangan Midnight Roleplaying Tournament

After seeing that we've had two races in the exhibition thread and the sudden influx of new players, I've decided that perhaps we should hold a tournament of sorts.

That's right. This will be a completely freestyle tournament where how you manage and write your character's actions will be key to winning this game! And most importantly... your characters actually get a reward in IC, regardless of whether or not he/she is in the IDRP or Wangan RP! That's right, this tournament is open to all!

Now you're probably wondering where or when the hell this tournament is going to take place - during the IDRP in 2005, or the Wangan RP in 2007? The answer is NEITHER. It will happen on May 19, 2008 (postponed from the 12th due to turnout issues), in the Exhibition Forums. Now while this means none of the races are going to happen canonically, that's fine. The whole point is to get together all the players and get them to compete in a war of words, for the most part. Bragging rights and rewards in your character's timeline (whether it be in the IDRP or Wangan RP) are ripe for the taking, depending on which category you want to be part of.

A set of rules will be in place soon, and signups are in this thread. All you need is a character. You may have one, or you may have many, and any of them can join. But do you have what it takes to be the IDRP and Wangan RP Endless Champion?

All we have to say is: BRING IT.
